Daysz
Days get longer,
Friends grow older.
Waving good-bye.
As you drift off into, a new summer
Changing,
As the days roll on,
You change who you are.
Leaving your phone behind.
Ignoring old friends,
Making new ones that seem to replace them,
Ignoring the phone calls.
Going out with new people who,
Seem to be your best friends.
Shopping at the board walk.
Having movie marathons.
Going out for ice cream,
In the middle of the day.
Going to parties.
Falling for new guys who,
Will leave you.
Days grow shorter,
Your new friends slowly leave you alone.
Soon enough you are ignoring the calls,
This time hanging out with the friends who,
Were always there.
Laughing,
Joking around.
Shopping every weekend,
Having movie marathons.
Making up for the lost time,
Acting as if you never stopped talking.
Calling them up in the middle of the night,
Not sure what to wear for the first day of school.
As the days grow longer it starts all over again.
Losing sight of those who,
Are truly,
Your friends.
Meeting new people,
Creating new crushes.
In the end your new friends will leave.
But the friends you ignore the entire summer,
Will still, be there.
To, catch you when you fall.
To, wipe your tears away.
To, encourage you every day.
