"I'm Tired, I'm Cold, And I Don't Want To Be Here"

The sun reflects off the water,
Creating a soft glow,
Like a diamond,
Calling for you,
Softly,
Seducing you into its waters.
The cold water is like a long lost kiss.
Enveloping you into the warm feeling,
You so desperately want.
The waters hold you softly,
As if you are its lover.
Trying to show you how much it needs you.
Calling you home
Like a wife calls her husband after the war.
Pulling you in,
Begging you never to leave again.
Enclosing you in murky waters,
Protecting you from the dangers,
You have yet faced.
The melody of the waves is like a forgotten song,
The birds seem to sing the words,
You are taken back into old memories.
Toes in the burning sand.
The man you once loved
Now,
Long forgotten.
The warmth slowly dies out.
The waves that once pulled you in as gently, grow stronger.
The memories hurt.
They you away.
You try to cling to the warmth and love you once felt.
Kicking the water as if,
You are begging it to let you back in.
You are never truly ready for the heart break.
No matter what you say as you are tossed back to shore.
Pain fills your stomach.
As you drive away you glance back,
Wanting for the water
To, call you home again.
When the day comes the sun shines on the murky water
It starts all over again.
