Dysmorphia

The mirror tells such petty lies,
to pretty girls who want to die.
With hips too wide,
and dreams too thin,
the pretty girls will never win.


The author's comments:
After dealing with depression and eating disorders, I wrote this poem to show that people who suffer have no control over what they see when they look in the mirror.

I wrote this ages ago, and am not sure why it posted it as anonymous. I still really like my poem, as it still really applies to my life.
