Theme for Creative Writing II
Ms. Thinness said,
Go home and write
A page tonight
And let that page come out of you-
Then it will be true.
And so
I lay on my bed.
And for the assignment
I copy the first 5 lines.
For I
am as uncreative like a retired artist out of ideas
How ironic that is,
for this poem is for creative writing.
To help myself out
I list a few of my favorites:
eating, drinking, sleeping, and being in love.
I also enjoy shopping, reading, and laughing, too.
My fears
those I shall not list.
But they say
You can only fear fear itself.
Oh is that so?
On to think of happy things like
Starbucks coffee with a piece of cake,
or a big strawberry milkshake.
My mother’s tight hugs
and the smile of my little brother.
With my mind
cleared
and the assignment
finished,
I proceed to put my pen down
and fall asleep.
