It's A Game Of Inches

There is none other like it.
It’s quick, skilled, and smart.
Every inch can make the whole decision
The pitcher is a predator,
He has to deceive his movements when on the attack.
The ball is a mallet just pounding away at the mitt of the catcher.
Chin music, the scariest feeling when you hear the wings of the ball soar past your grimacing face. Escape. It reminds you of a helicopter. Whoom! Whoom!
Rapidly spinning
It’s a game of inches, every one counts.

Each player has a purpose and a place to be every play.
It’s like World War II,
Every move has a strategy behind it,
One slip up could give up the game winning run.
It’s a game of inches, every one counts.

The batter bunts as the crowd goes wild, a bunt slowly creeps down the line,
But the slight slope steers the ball foul.
The catcher is a general, he knows every play and sees all.
He takes a beating from the swift swing of the sword of the batter.
It deceives the distance from the plate, with each ball the crowd roars.
Woooo! Yeah!
It’s a game of inches, every one counts.

Once it’s over the crowd roars, the fireworks fly in the sky!
The wizzing of the explosives soon turn into beautiful flowers of fire drifting in the wind.
This is the game I know and love. Baseball.
It’s a game of inches, every one counts.

I had to right some poetry for my class, and I decided to mess with free verse. I was surprised how easy it is once I put a subject I love and then put it on paper.

"You don't need to be brave every minute of everyday, just a few seconds at a time."

Overall I think this is a good poem. I really like how you repeated "It's a game of inches, every one counts" multiple times throughout. The only thing I could say is that it seems a little scattered. Like, all the ideas are there, but maybe they could be rearranged a little better.
