why do we fly to the
light
just like a
kite
on a summer
day

are risks willing to be
made
even when we are
forbade

or do we live in fear of the
unknown
the things that we normally
condone

i am a moth

i choose to stand up and say
yes every single
day


i choose to live in the fast
lane
in the slow there is less to
gain

i am a moth

In 7th Grade, my teacher introduced my class to a poem called "The Lesson of the Moth" and asked us to write a poem in response. This was my poem.
