Rise Again
It’s that first step in a new place
Faces swim together
None familiar
It’s all different
From the asphalt beneath your feet to the trees soaring high
You would have never thought you’d miss the old place
With the memories of the years you never thought you would have to leave behind
Now you have to
Gone are the streets engrained in your memory
The days that when you needed me I was 20 minutes away
I know it won’t be easy
I know how you must feel
I tell you not to worry,
That it will be okay
Sometimes you have to break and bend
Before you can rise again.
