The Beauty of Marriage
A dove fluttered above my head that summer afternoon
The calmness it possessed fell over me like a silk blanket
The presence of the dove was peaceful
It helped me realize my choice was set
My life had meaning at last
I gazed into his eyes and my heart fluttered
His hand grasped mine as we said our vows
That day the world shifted for me
I began to believe that love is real, love exists
Love can overcome the worst times in life
It’s the love in this world that makes everything else seem ordinary
We held hands and danced all night under the moonlight with our family and friends
A feeling of serenity swept through me
I looked up at the night sky, but something caught my eye
The dove was calm, perched in a tree watching over us
I felt my world was at peace at last
