The Chase
The creature's ears fly up,
The eyes widen,
The pupils dilate.
Alert,
Prepared,
Sensing the danger,
It cautiously moves it's head.
The hawk swoops down,
And off to the races,
Quickly the creature runs.
Heart pounding,
Sharp movements,
A hurried breath and jump.
The hawk's talons graze it's soft fur,
Missing just by an inch.
Relief at last,
A sense of pride,
An accomplishment to proclaim.
The hawk stifles a screech,
And gracefully flies away.
