since the seventh grade
“Oww! My eyes!” Kelsey mumbled, her face hidden under the polka dot blanket.
“Sorry! I forgot to warn you.” I threw my maroon tote bag to the ground and unlaced my boots.
“You’re being so loud. Are you high?”
“Yeah… but high enough to function,” I unzipped my grey corduroys, replacing them with a pair of Kelsey’s sweatpants.
“Daisy! What are you doing?!” she yelled tiredly beneath the polka dots.
“I didn’t think you were actually sleeping yet. I was only gone for fifteen minutes.” I pulled on the sweatshirt of her ex boyfriend.
“Well I was trying…my wisdom teeth hurt so bad.”
“My retainer! Thank you for reminding me.” I rummaged through the bag on the ground, until I found the green case.
I shut off the light and shut the door. It still wasn’t dark. The closet shined into the room, illuminating the outline of her body under the covers.
“Thould I thut this light off too?”
“Yeah, I only left it on for you.”
“You do love me. Haha I can’t thalk at all wif this thing in.”
“Good. Now shut the f*** up and go to sleep.”
She rolled over. I smiled.
