What The Eye Can See
The scratching of pencils on paper.
The stories flying from their mouths.
I don’t know what to do with myself,
When they’re all around.
The tears sliding down their cheeks,
As they wine about their stupid lives,
And all I do is shake my head.
Shake my head and frown.
The laughter and stupidity,
That’s hanging in the air.
The boys that’s couldn’t care less,
And pull out people’s chairs
I see them all and still wonder,
“what is wrong with me??”
But then I take a closer look
And there’s more than the eye can see
The girls are scared and insecure,
The boys are just a mess.
Some are hiding in the closet,
Trying to break free.
The skimpy shorts and the sleazy tops
Hide how much they hate their flaws
And they lather on all the make-up,
Just to hide their battle scares
And from looking deeper I have learned
That to everyone
There is more than the eye can see.
