Life Doesn't Frighten Me
Loved ones not waking up from slumber,
Not knowing what’s near the stars I’m under,
Life doesn’t frighten me at all.
Marriage ending in divorce,
Being the dividing force,
Life doesn’t frighten me at all.
Seemingly perfect people,
The priest whose home is under the steeple,
They don’t frighten me at all.
Going to sleep every night alone,
My future along side where the trash has been thrown,
That doesn’t frighten me at all.
I say, “I love you”,
As they do too,
I take the long way,
They stay away,
I smile,
They wait a while,
I embrace,
They keep space,
Life doesn’t frighten me at all.
Crossing the street with no ones hand,
Something happening without being planned,
Life doesn’t frighten me at all.
Unimmunized humans carrying diseases,
exotic pets when anyone pleases,
No, they don’t frighten me at all.
A human race where
dreams are shutout by reality,
Increasing rates in brutality,
Segregated by sexuality,
Questioning everyone’s morality
They don’t frighten me at all.
