Change
Change
Spring comes around,
The world-reborn.
We witness a revival.
Things have changed,
But things have stayed.
As the New Year rolls around,
The summer arrives.
The sweltering heat,
Cooled by crisp blue water.
The days become longer
But things don’t change.
Fall makes its spectacular entrance.
School starts up.
New teachers, new kids.
But things stay the same.
Halloween melts into Christmas,
The winter flies in.
The cold air dries our chapped lips.
And makes breathing hard.
The trees strip their leaves,
The sky turns dark.
But nothing changed.
The year starts up again
The seasons repeat their timeless cycle.
Have things changed?
The world keeps going,
Time keeps rolling.
But some things will never change.
We will never change.
