Gazing with hope and tension
Holding tightly onto his brother
As a protective shield
Their struggle is visible
Lying in the background

A family’s heritage
Seen through
The colorless portrait

Their appearance features
The parentless lives
They live

Having nappy roots
And dehydrated lips
Not forgetting
The teary eyes
Taking away
Their innocence
