Her smile was shining,
She was a star.
She was never caught whining,
Even with no car.

At 16 she was bright-
Top of her class,
But all it took was one night
To miss her little sass.

It was her birthday the next day.
She would finally get to drive,
But it wasn't to be that way.
She never did survive.

In fact, that smile was fake.
Her room, she left a note.
At school and home she'd rather be a witch on a stake.
She cried at night staring intently at her tote.

One night her smile was erased.
One night was all it took.
That night she gave one last look
At the world she left behind.

Little did her parents know
Their constant "joking" took its toll.
Found on the bathroom floor
she bled, opening her eyes no more.

I wrote this to show many hide what they truly feel, and you never quite know who's at war with themselves. Writing this eased some internal pain. I hope if you are one of those who is at war, don't fight alone. Death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. You're friends, if they really are friends, will help you through.
