Toxic Paint
Wake up in the morning.
Push the tears aside.
Paint on a stranger's face.
Sing a happy song.
Think little of the consequences coming my way.
Think nothing of the scars being left behind.
Forget about the questions that will soon arise.
Forget everything and focus on new pain.
Façade.
Façade is the answer to all.
Let no one break the barrier.
It took far too long to build.
Nothing is wrong.
I always feel okay.
Sing the same song.
Live by it day by day.
Let the paint dry and crust over every wound.
Give no one a single glance into my inner being.
Hide every hope and disappoint I hold.
Act like the person they would rather have as company.
Act like the paint does not burn.
