Spring 2008, Playground at Broadway Elementary
Wind whispered by,
Trees tossed, playfully pulling apart
Leaves lit up the long branches
Rustling with each gentle gust,
Together the two of us,
Stood alone, and
The looming ominous clouds
Silently reminded us
That our time together
Ticked quickly away
Our hearts raced
And our minds paced
Eyes wandering, hands shaking
Then, our eyes met
Time froze as I pressed forward
My eyes closed at the last moment
Our lips brushed for an instant
Then pressed together,
I smiled, and squeezed her tight
It was after all my first kiss
