fall like paper thin glass
and shatter at my feet
you’re stealing someone’s words
you’re clutching at wisps of smoke
did you really think
i’d be so quick to forget?
smash all the clocks
because their hands are only pointing
at you
bolt all the doors
don’t you dare let
anyone in
you’ve spilled acid on my insides
& set fire to your promises
you’ll need more than
borrowed words
taken from the tongues
of poets
to put our flames
out
