If I Could Change One Thing
If I could change one thing
I’d change Senior Year.
For once,
I’d like to just slack off
I’d like to just skip a day
for no good reason.
I want one day
where nothing is expected of me.
Graduation is supposed to be
a day of celebration,
a milestone that starts the beginning.
But the closer I get,
the harder things are.
Tests, Contest, Concerts,
Grades, Homework, Theatre,
Chores, Babysitting, Fundraising,
Stress.
Isn’t Senior Year supposed to be fun?
Isn’t this MY year?
It doesn’t feel like it.
It feels like this year has been for everyone,
but me.
20 days left;
feels more like 20 more years.
That’s what stress does to you.
If I could change one thing
I’d change Senior Year.
I’d lift off the stress.
And just enjoy the end of high school.
