"I'll make my way, until the universe can fit inside my heart"

Taking a cue from the Earth and her perfectly natural, yearly cycle
I've decided to make like a tree and turn over some new leaves.
Now that I'm a blossoming
I've got to say, my spindly, vascular limbs feel dangerously bare
I'm just an achey-breakey sapling
As my eyelets squint to see beyond my nourishing mother, my beloved horizon
As she sheds her linings.
As she zooms by me, and I stay rooted.
As I blink squint worry
As I perk myself up, and remember to breathe. And move my feet, because I'm a human
Not a tree.
Don't worry, the horizon is a benevolent God.

The Old Testaments were thrown out. This is the beginning of the New Testaments. I hope they're interpreted better than the Old ones, for those were lost even unto me.

Hey, Caf. I'm Mcaky. Your freind told me you joined Teenink. I'm so happy to see your work and read it. I find a lot of the elements MyApocalyptic uses in her poetry in your as well. Not to say that it's pretty much the same. I enjoy the imagery you incorporate and the metaphors as well as the personification. And I agree that last line is powerful. One that is memorable and full of hope.

Bessfran. I DIG IT. I'm happy to see you expressin' yourself. Your natural, thoughtful style is totes rad. Favourite line- "Don't worry, the horizon is a/benevolent God." I'm gonna write that somewhere and keep it with me on my Journeys. :O
