Rain.
Rain.
Pouring.
Clouding my view.
The endless pitter-patter of drops
Ends the life of many:
Washed out by the unforgiving,
Ceaseless downpour.
A single flash of light.
In the distance
A bolt.
Fells a tree.
In seconds,
Finishes the job of a lumberjack.
Ends the creation
Of the rain and sun
From so long ago.
The rain does not stop.
The endless,
Ceaseless
Downpour.
Far away,
In the shadows,
Rain continues to pour.
Then out of the shadows,
A boy appears
Running.
Laughing.
Bringing joy
To the dark and dreary day.
Reminding us
Of the life that can be created in each storm.
