A Quarter
I, the quarter of the American People.
The metal disk that travels day in and day out,
from pocket to pocket.
Living a new life that will change tomorrow.
Thrown into little glass jars in coffee shops,
when I am unwanted.
Or I am charished by the young girl who tosses me into a jar that is recounted everyday.
Sometimes I am forgotten;
just the metal chunk that weighs down a pocket.
But other times, it is I who save the day.
My life is enfinite, since the day George Washington's face was branded on my face.
To mark me as the symbol of Ameirca.
