The Angels were all singing out of tune and hoarse with having little else to do except to wind up the sun and moon or curb a runaway young star or two.

As a pen dances across the page
A girl in Hawaii surfs a wave
As children in the Caribbean celebrate Carnival while parading through the street
Parents in Spain croon melodies to lure their infant to sleep
The pen produces an assortment of words
That are used to take you on an adventure through many different worlds
To assist you in experiencing cultures far different from yours
The words on the page leave you with an illustration
Coming from an author’s culture and imagination
From Aesop’s paintings of the young boy who cried wolf
The descriptions from the use of language supply details that enhance
An unfolding landscape of Ancient Greece
Shakespeare invites you on a tour of Italy
While introducing his latest travesty
Afterwards, join Rudyard Kipling and explore the Indian jungle with Mogali
Authors use words to introduce you to customs that you have never seen before
Different languages, foods, even new ways to open doors

We open these doors as the words dance into our minds
To things that we have not seen before
As you learn about people who are different from you
We will be sure that the melting pot will continue to grow
Without just one specific flavor of paint
For then the canvas will just be unvaried, filled with only one color
Instead, mix the different paints
Let new colors be created
You will see that the mixed colors are the most tasteful
Continue to fill your mind with words
That will help you to paint a picture
As the pictures are hung, they will all see
We are but one that hangs in the gallery
