Snow Filled Streets
Snow falling softly,
To the world below
The earth,
Silently spinning
A world of white
With hints of red and green
As the holiday season
Comes once again.
Cold nights
Warm fires
Over sized sweaters
And this town is at peace.
The starry sky
Lighting the silent street
This never ending road
Hidden by the blizzard
Two sets of footprints
Tracking our movements
Sinking into the snow
As we walk along the sidewalk
His smile
Warm enough to melt the snow
His jacket
Draped over my shoulders
Everything is so peaceful
All we could hear
Was the snow
Falling softly
As the sun rises
And the night is over
The street begins to shimmer
Like thousands of diamonds
Our heartfelt goodbyes
As we separate
Into the lifeless world
Till the day
We see each other again
