“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” –Winston Churchill

In a life that is so full of mystery
One thing is always for sure
We don’t know everything

Someone might seem so happy,
But in reality, they might be
Struggling to get through the day

A smile might seem happy
But in reality, it could just be a show,
Hiding their true feelings from the world and themselves

So next time you see someone
Don’t think that you know
What they’re going through

One friendly word
Could make the difference
Of life and death

The voracious ambition of humans is never sated by dreams coming true, because of the thought that everything may be done better and again. --John Green, The Fault in Our Stars.

Wow, Emers. That was beautiful! Simple yet it completely got the point it across. I think the simpleness goes a long way. Short and sweet, something you can remember and still have an impact on you. I especially loved the last stanza! I also loved the line "Hiding their true feelings from the world and themselves" I think the "themselves" part is really powerful. Great job! I'm so glad I finally found this! Please check out and comment/rate on some of my stuff! Keep writing! (See you at school Friday!)
