New Routines
Today I woke up to the northern wind,
the sun rising like a balloon,
the sky filled
with red, orange and yellow streams.
And beyond the streams, cars filling highways,
dirt roads, main streets and interstates jammed
under accidents.
The daily path for everyone blocked,
the day is off to a horrific start.
Later, laborers will arrive at work
and do their daily routines,
and I will relax, being productive and relieved.
But for now I am angry,
not willing to wait.
I will make my own path
and drive away down a new road,
With signs never seen.
So this is the new route,
these are the new ways I will follow.
Why I did not change earlier?
The roads abandoned, silent and peaceful,
where I never drove before,
where new thoughts came to mind.
Now I remember,
in the peace of the car
what my goal is
And where this journey has taken me.
