Transition
Still was the night on Tingley Road
So sacred a moment no cricket dared break
So smooth a current no wind dared stir
The moon showed her face in the sky above
And once again in the stream below
Reminding us all who reigns the night
But tonight is special on Tingley Road
A leaf, brown and crisp, lets go of an elm overhead
And floats back and forth across the sky
Releasing its last breath of warm air
It lands peacefully on the face of the moon
Quivering with the onus of a quiet confession
The first of many for a sublime Charon
She will stay up late tonight
