On the mountain
He stands alone
Away from life
And far from home
On the mountain
He stands up still
Watching over
The rolling hill
On the mountain
He hears a sound
A voice, a calling
All around
On the mountain
He is alone
Listening to
The faded tone
On the mountain
With closing eyes
He thinks about
The clear skies
On the mountain
He sinks to dirt
Wishing he
Was never hurt
On the mountain
He recalls
What happened years past
In the fall
On the mountain
It comes to him
The leaves had left
The trees were dim
On the mountain
It was wrong
The forest bare
The quiet song
On the mountain
It starts to play
The music of
The quiet day
On the mountain
The boy in fear
Remembering
What happened here
On the mountain
Years ago
The fall of life
The end for all
On the mountain
He lives on
To make up for
What they did wrong
On the mountain
He starts to think
Of ways to make
Some kind of link
On the mountain
He's on his feet
He walks up to
The mountain peak
On the mountain
There rests a pond
With creatures
That did nothing wrong
On the mountain
He watches down
And sees the city
And sports a frown
On the mountain
He journeys down
The mountain slope
Keeping the frown
On the mountain
He starts to see
What was once
A great city
On the mountain
He doesn't see
When he erases it
From his memory
On the mountain
The boy is pure
And when it happened
He was sure
On the mountain
In the sky
A shining beam
From way up high
On he mountain
The boy surprised
A figure formed
From its demise
On the mountain
The boy has knelt
The figure knowing
What he felt
On the mountain
He knows who's there
His mother now
Is standing there
On the mountain
Near the lake
They embrace
For each other's sake
On the mountain
One by one
More people formed
The boy is done
On the mountain
His sanity
Restored by all
Humanity
On the mountain
Everyone
Now will know
What they did wrong
On the mountain
They decide
To help the nature
They lived beside
On the mountain
They take down
What used to be
A city, or town
On the mountain
It is done
The people know
That nature won
On the mountain
The people learn
That nature is a huge
Concern
On the mountain
They will notg
Go back to when
Nature and them fought

The author's comments:
The point of this piece is symbolic. In ways it can be taken literally by people, as a child alone on a Mountain. However, the real part that I would hope people wold see is the symbolic way I tried to show how our current lives and impact on the environment can impact the lives of our generation. Through the poem I tried to convey how the boy is the last human alive and how he lives on as the sole human who cared about the environment, and through that caring, he brought back the people who changed and, toward the end, destroying a town is meant to symbolize their change to a pure life.

Where it says "Notg" it should say "not".
