Again.
I see across the cloudy skies:
Across the deep ocean.
Tides rise,
They collide,
They subside.
A cycle unexplainable,
Yet inevitable.
I see the tides
in your eyes.
When I'm stubborn,
Quick to judge,
Deceitful,
And grudging.
But your eyes always calm.
They are eager to forgive,
Willing to move on,
And always there to lean on.
They don't vary,
They don't sway;
They have yet
To turn me away—ever.
Is this sequence,
The rise and fall and the ups and down,
The fall and fight and forgiveness and delight,
Through it all,
The unchanging series,
Again and time again,
Of a predictable life?
