My Papi
My dad,
Through thick and think, you stand by my side.
My caregiver,
When it snows you get up extra early every morning to clean my car.
My friend,
We crack jokes, have good times, and mess up on model cars together.
Your forgiveness,
Something I need.
I’m tired of hearing and seeing,
the constant crumble of your heart.
I break it.
You fix it.
You forgive me.
I break it.
You fix it.
You forgive me.
A sincere sorry or an aboveboard apology shouldn’t compel you to forgive and forget.
But you always do
Forgive me,
For the damage I’ve made on this family
Forgive me,
For the heartache I've cause
Forgive me,
For the family fights which my mouth has made up
Forgive me,
For being the problem child in the family
I wish I was perfect too…
You’re a great man
Because even though a hurt and pained you,
You still were
My great dad,
Through thick and thin you stood by my side
My 24/7 caregiver,
When it snows you get up extra early every morning to clean my car.
My best friend,
We crack jokes, have good times, and mess up on model cars together.
You always say “the world is yours”
Well if I had the world…
I’d give it to you because,
You mean the world to me.
