Waiting on the Sidelines of Love
I sit here, on this bench, as I watch and listen.
Wanting nothing more than to join the game but not just any position.
I want to feel like a true team, me and another.
With someone who would have my back one way or the other.
To not be expected to score every point,or feel pressure to achieve perfection.
But to feel as if just being me
keeps them happy with their selection
We may not be the "perfect" team because perfection is overrated.
But as we experience both wins and loses, we remain motivated.
Until I come across this teammate I will continue to warm up this bench
Because I am in no rush to be part of a team where I am not truly content
