Every Second
We fought last night
Again.
Words get thrown like knives to our hearts
All of the sins we’ve done
Or things we haven’t done
“Why did you do that”
“You have no idea how much that hurts”
You say something
I come right back with something else
You take it all in like a sponge soaking up dirty water
I hear “I love you”
“I’m sorry”, “It will be okay”
My heart melts because I can never stay mad at you
My heart will always have love for you
Through our fights
The nasty words
And our sins
I wake up every morning anxiously
To see your beautiful face
Because every second I’m not with you
Is a second wasted
