The War of Two Seasons
As far from summer as one can get
The frigid darkness summons fear.
The sky blocked out by sad gray haze
The sun is nowhere near.
The fallen limbs of fallen trees
And foggy breath of frozen mind
The footprint trails clean on the ground
Make it so simple for one to find.
I look beyond what eyes can see
Seeming so infinite
The hard-lined trees and coated streets
And side lamps are all lit.
I manifest the paradox
One can simply feel and see
Beauty and sadness fight a war.
Flowered grass to ice-glazed trees.
