Not a Team
everything was good and then everything was gone again
it slipped back into place and then it fell right back again

 when you're gone there's
 nothing to hold us together
nothing to get us through the day
nothing to keep us moving forward

and it all shattered or poured down from the sky
on am umbrella or the sparklers on the fourth of july

we walk the halls as ghosts and we lose more than we gain
we were friends but now we're not
 divided by our hate

and we can't bridge the gap
the weather's warmer but not our hearts
whatever drew us together is now
 keeping us apart

we run towards something but we're not sure what-
 it's big it's bold it's crazy
but it's so far i cannot see

it seems our soul has fled
fast as it could across the field
 we're stuck up and tired
and when will we ever be united?

Enthusiasm's gone and eaten by the shadows in the dark
put your shoes on no bare feet
when you run through Roger's Park.
