Soldiers

They lose an arm for our heads.
They lose a leg for our voices.
Our freedom and our choices
And our lives are thanks to theirs.
Yet here we are,
So dependent on another.
Stuck up,
In love with ourselves.
How are we so proud?
They wake up from a terrible dream.
The nightmares of before,
The ones of war
Are back again.
Yet here we are.
Worrying about our style
Trying to impress one who doesn't care,
And boasting of ourselves.
How are we so proud?

Why is this country so proud of itself? Our soldiers are dying for such selfish people! Teens are so fake trying to be noticed. Little kids are screwing their life up at an earlier age every single generation. And we're all in bad shape. The government is The Teacher of loan debts- they keep setting a date to schedule the budget-lmit, and they KEEP pushing it back.
Wanna know a fact?
For every dollar this country has, 60 CENTS OF IT is BORROWED MONEY.
That means 60% of our money isn't even ours- it's money that we (this country) has to pay back; it might as well not exist! And we brag about being such a rich country?! We're more in debt than you think.
People are dying for us and we don't even give them the time of day- not even on a holiday that gets us out of school. My friend's dad is a war veteran, and he doesn't even get off of work for Veteran's Day. Are you kidding? He out of all people should get that day off. But no.
This country is too sdtuck up for its own good. -And hey, honeslty I would rather live in this country more than any other country, but I just don't see anything there is to be proud about.
By the way, if you think you're supporting soldiers by Liking pictures on facebook and stuff, get over yourself, that's nothing.
