Quiet

Quiet makes everything around me more beautiful.
The sun rises
as softly as a feather falling to the ground
and the sky grows light over the houses and trees
high above me.
If I make the slightest sound, it may all turn ugly.
I could talk
but it is too beautiful
to ruin the silence.
Soon it will be breakfast,
time for eating and talking
and being a part of family,
belonging again to the noisy world
of cars
busses,
trains,
and talking people.
But for now…
I’ll be a part of the quiet
and let nature remain beautiful,
the silence,
so beautiful.
