John Green - "The human tongue is like wasabi: it's very powerful, and should be used sparingly."

A castle of fear,
On a foundation of condensed tears,
Pathways of pain with every step,

Every jewel on the crown for every broken promise that was meant to be kept,
Every ring on the crown for every single tear that wasn't meant to be wept,

The icy queen on the throne,
Her only friend is alone,

Her face so white and clear,
For her face was cleansed with the tears,

Her red lips from the bites,
For every insult that invites,

Her long, long hair,
From all the waiting,
As everyone stopped to care,

She grew so cold and statue hard,

like a porcelain counterpart

She's lost,
She'll never be found,

Her castle could fill billions,
But there would be no sound,

No echoes for help,
No cries of yelp,

She's the princess that wanted to escape the castle,

but what she couldn't escape was her fate,

She waited so long,
She became the queen,
Of loneliness and despair,
with all the pain she could possibly bear,

The once hopeful her,
Was so eager,

She only reigned in her dreams,
But once she's dead she'll soon know what it truly means,
To live a life of despair,
Eternally in a castle on air.

I'm new to Teen Ink and I decided to post one of my amateur poems.

It conveys this girl who is in emotional struggle and the castle of fear is her dreams. Dreams often are symbolic and very pleasant.
