Immensity and Scarcity

One drop and another fall
filling the sky with reminders.
Others carefully listen
at the taps on their windows.
The sound whispering and promising change.
Around the corner you're waiting.
A casual reminder of my past.
There is so much needed to be said
yet the words don't come
leaving us with more regret.
I tried to pretend I understood.
Yet here I was standing in front of you.
My unspoken words leaving more questions.
