Everything has been alright
Little did I know it was almost night
The fire burns slow but sure
For age the is no cure

Strength sapped
Energy tapped
Hoping to make it to tomorrow
Trying to survive the sorrow

Beware the fifth year
It comes without notice
And like a curse
Of hocus pocus

Beware the year
Your heart dies
Your soul cries
Until you are hollow

Unmerciful
The fifth year
Cruel and sneaky
And always ends in a tear

The more control you have over yourself, the less control others have over you.

Hi! I am sorry about your guinea pig, but this poem is really good. You put a lot of emotion into this and it's really nice. You did a good job of capturing the aspect of how the fifth year snuck up on you and the five years went so fast. Good job! You're great! Xx!
