I’m a compass without direction
Stuck in a lost and found
Covered by the more valuable belongings
People just toss me aside
Looking for something of their own
Looking for something better
After a while, the unclaimed items are thrown out
It’s only a matter of time
Before I’m taken away
Unless by a stroke of luck
Someone claims me
Cleanses me
And writes their name inside of me
