An angel gone away
A crown of autumn colors
like the cornfields she called home
But then the lies fell down like rain
her trust became a tomb
the colors blurred, the cornfields died
and nothing was the same
she closed her eyes and took her knife
and filled her mind with pain
Her eyes just like her mother's
like a rainy day in spring
But then her faults just piled up
a peasant to a king
self hatred grew, pain won't subside
and nothing was okay
she closed her eyes and took her knife
and filled her mind with pain
red rose she's buried under
like a mask to hide behind
she never saw her goodness
to her beauty she was blind
now flowers die and seasons change
the days are cold and grey
she closed her eyes and took her life
an angel gone away
