Oblivion
When we were young.
The times that we went outside
Enjoying the fresh air and exercise.
And the times when we were fully alive.
The times when we had not a care in the world.
When we did only what we knew was right.
But when the time comes that you grow up,
What happens to your past life?
The thought of these memories begin to fade away
Like fog in your troubled mind.
The lively life of when you were a child
Vanishes into a desolate adulthood.
The mind is my treachery.
As we grow older,
These thoughts begin to fade.
They fade into a fear of losing them forever.
The fear of knowing however that you may never remember
The memories that you had treasured for all of your life.
But they have now been forgotten.
This fear is in all of us.
Embedded deep inside of your mind.
You try to relive this past life, but you know you cannot.
Imagining the times when we were young.
The times when we had not a care in the world.
And the times when we were fully alive.
So what are we now?
