Rushing through the woods pine
I laugh and throw my head back
As I scream into the night sky
I notice the stars encouraging twinkle
The disfigured monster still twitching
My feet are bare
And at the mercy of coincidence
(For there is no such thing as luck)
A great shadow casts upon me
I pick up my speed
As does he
Adrenaline rushes through my veins
It grabs me and twists me around,
I wake in cold sweat and tears
When I look into the mirror
I remember what I am
Neither human
Nor beast
But rather something in between,
How wonderful this horrid life can be.

The author's comments:
I had wanted a poem that brought out the worst of us that we ourselves felt was wonderful which is how I got the title Horriful (horrid and wonderful) So I honestly hope everyone and anyone who reads this gets what I'm trying to get at.
