Speak softly to me my sweet dearest lark
In my time of dying I need them most.
Please be my light in the enclosing dark,
Remember me now, for I am a ghost.

Allow me a swift and gentle passage
For God may not want a man such as me.
I have sinned, yes, but I am no bandit
If I must then I will beg on my knees.

I will beg for forgiveness and passage
Into the heavens I will go my love.
Forget me not, I undid the damage.
I love you forever my little dove.
