A Sudden Divide in the Woods

There is a sudden divide in the woods
When I was there
I noticed a child
running barefoot towards
the lake
Here
the sun seems never to stop
I returned back to the divide in the woods
many years later
I noticed a man wandering aimlessly through
the snow
Here
the grass seemed never to grow
