Waiting
I see you so near
I wish you were mine.
She holds you close
While I sit behind.
I wait for a day
One where I won't feel --
Feel so far away.
I cry myself to sleep,
Wishing,
praying.
longing for you.
For the sound of your voice,
For the touch of your lips.
I slip into a dream where you wait for me.
One that was once wonderful.
You hold me in your arms and whisper to me
All the things I want to hear.
You sing to me a song
Our song.
And then it all goes away,
Replaced by darkness and loneliness,
A world too familiar to me.
You are gone and all I can do
Is wait for the day when reality will be better than my dreams.
