Beating
I swear my heart will beat out of its cage
My ribs will fracture at the pulse and disintegrate at the resounding sound
The audible rumble will surely give me and my thoughts away but what am I to do?
I refuse to leave this moment
My hearts warning to leave by its overwhelming thud
Is ignored by itself as its half schizophrenic self cannot let a moment like this disappear
As the other perfect half sits in front of it
How could it let go?
The struggle to calm the beat proved fruitless when the smile flashed
And a laugh escaped
A stampede of horses ran through my torso
Jealous of the joy outside
I hope the perfect eyes cannot see the hooves kicking at the walls of my skin
And I hope the calming voice can soothe them
But as my inner rhythm accelerates I realize
Some of my horses broke loose in the spotless heart and together they can run free
