"Shut up, heifer." ~Madeline Martin, my dearly beloved friend

Prejudice is a flower
Which blooms from
The stem of ignorance
Which grows from
The roots of the uneducated
Buried in the dirt
Of mental blindness

Just because it’s a flower
Does not always mean it is
Beautiful
In truth, it is more so
Like a weed
Something no one wants
But everyone has at some point

Some people choose to remove it
Plucking it out of their minds
But some do not care
Letting it grow, grow,
Until it consumes them
And they are as ugly
As the weeds that engulf them
