Gone.
Bam,
the door closes behind her,
shaking the entire house,
tears begin to fall.
Its cold outside,
each breath she takes is shallow
from the sobs that pour out from her.
The rain is pouring
masking the tears on her face,
hiding her feelings from the strangers who pass.
Regret fills up inside her.
Should she just have left like that?
Should she go back and make things right?
She stumbles around outside the house,
not really knowing where she’s going.
She can see the towns lights,
hinting at the life that lives there.
Its dark so she can’t really see where she is going.
But she ends up on a road--
maybe out of town,
she doesn’t know,
away from it all.
The passing cars headlights hit her,
showing the passing drivers her silhouette.
The rain begins to hit harder,
soaking through her clothes,
drenching her.
There’s a car getting closer,
closer, and closer.
It’s about to pass by her,
when it happens.
The driver loses control.
