Frost
Frost said: 'the woods are lovely, dark and deep’
But I think he was wrong.
It is not the woods, but the ocean
That is
Lovely, dark and deep
Swaying abruptly, looking for something or someone
To calm them
Or give a sense of comfort.
It is a lot like love, the ocean:
Wild, unforgiving, wicked
Menacingly depressing, a vast openness
That quickly could be replaced with loneliness
When one has a change of heart
Leaving the victim like the ocean:
Wild, unforgiving, wicked
Swaying abruptly, looking for something or someone
To calm them
Or give a sense of comfort.
Frost said: ‘from what I've tasted of desire?I hold with
those who favor fire’
But I think he was wrong.
After the fire is gone
All that’s left is ice
In the soul of the lonely lover
After the fiery trespasser got too hot
But if I had to perish twice
I would forgive him three times.
Because the ocean is forgiving
So am I
